FOTD: Bright Corals

I had this idea to do this neutral look with the pop of a bright coral.
The pigment I used was pretty but for me it was a little too difficult to use.
Can anyone recommend a bright coral pressed shadow, please?

I'm still figuring out how to work my new camera so don't mind the last 3 photos in that my skin is more orange because I used a "dark skin" setting. But it ended up showing the brightness a bit more then any other setting.

Face: Nars Foundation, MAC Cantaloupe Blush
Eyes: Misc. Coral p/m, MAC Tete-a-Tint (crease), Brown Script (outer crease), Nylon (highlight/lower lashes), Blacktrack fluidline, L'Oreal Telescopic (gold) Mascara, Wet N' Wild Brow Liner
Lips: NYX Nude l/l, MAC Dazzleglass Bare Necessity

Anonymous Pussies

Every once in awhile I get these random anonymous comments.
You know the "aye you're shit and ugly" ones. Usually when I read them it's like, "*smirk* dumb ass anons." delete.

Anyways, I just got a recent one and while I don't take them seriously I always wondered about those people.
I mean, I believe you gotta be a lonely lame bitch to hide your idenity in order to say whatever the hell you gotta say.

Honestly - who wanders around blogs they apparently don't like, comments it and walks away thinking they've done some awesome ass thing? Yep. Sad ass lame anons. Seriously, at least show who you are so I can judge your ass too. Oh no wait, I'm not a fucking kid! If I don't like how someone looks or whatever blog I come across - you know what a sensible person does? Click the fucking exit button.
Not that a comment ruins my day but I'm just wondering - who does shit like that?

hey anon, what did you do today?
"oh I went on some website and and talked shit to someone I don't know to overcome my inner insecurities.Ya know, The usual."

oh yeah, sounded like a productive and fufilling day.
"yeah! My mama always told me I'd make a great douche bag one day!"

looks like you're achieving it very nicely.

Yes. Anonymous pussies does that shit.
And thanks for visiting my page and taking any time out of your life to comment my site.
Again, YOUR time on me. Puts money in my pocket... All I gotta say.

H&M Shoe Haul

...firstly, thank you all who responded kindly to my previous post on boys.
I am so moving on.

If you're an iPhone owner - I would download the "Feeling Down" app. A lot of inspiring quotes that ring true to all and really made me feel better. Besides that, having really good friends with opening ears and a big appetite help also lol.

Went to H&M on Sunday and casually browsed.

I can't wear high heels for crap. Just can't walk in them so I found these and found them cute for casual wear and to get use to walking in them properly. I'm determine to learn how to walk over 4-inch heels. My friend told me when I complained, "Celia... you need to get the fuck over with and practice wearing them and just fucking do it because you are a girl!" I was about to say, "you have not watched RuPaul's Drag Race. Them male hoochies can WORK it." but instead I said, "yes... yes... I need some Fuck Me pumps." The vulgarity in a simple conversation, right? Haha.

Don't mind my dirty laptop.

The heels are about 2 inches.
Suede finish.
Tan color - they had them in black which looked like a really dark navy to me.
$24.95

Anyone else High Heeled Handicapped like me?

Ichiban Kan Haul + Free Pigments

Haul from... 2 weeks ago?
I get so behind on this lol.

But I went to visit my uncle and his family in the city (San Francisco) and stopped by Tanforan in San Bruno. I use to come to that mall when I was little - they use to have this pet shop that even carried dogs. Ah, childhood memories. Now it's a typical mall - but it does offer a cool little store called Ichiban Kan which has lots of imported Asian products (mainly Japanese) for very cheap prices. A lot go for $1 - the more pricier items are imported beauty facial and hair products that I've seen on several beauty blogs here. They have so many vast things like kitchen stuff, school supplies, some treats/food, office and of course all beauty items.

I need lunch boxes for work and they had so many offers for $1-2 so I browsed and picked up 2.
Got me some pigment sample jars - $1 each for 3. They had smaller ones that came in 4. I'll probably go back and get the pill boxes and use them for storage. Hmm creative juices flowing, anyways...
And some lashes - the ones shown below are the pricier ones at $3.99 - another brand they carried were all $1.50. I bought some of those on my previous trip so I didn't get any more. And of course a few candies - I love peko! And Hello Panda for my students...

So with this pigment jars I had bought - I went to my friends house because she told me she bought a huge lot of MAC pigments online and told me to bring mines so we can share. Upon observing, I knew most were fake and a select few were real but I had asked her if she ever had allergic reactions from them and she said no... so I proceeded with shopping her stash! Fun!

I'd totally recommend doing this with friends!
Buy some jars (coastal scents has a huge pack of them or try eBay) and shop each other's stash. She took a lot from my pigment but my jars were still 3/4 full. And the jars I bought are huge in comparison to the typical small ones they offer. And that amount of pigment in your jar will outlive you if you use it everyday, I swear lol. So share the wealth!

I'm planning on pressing all my pigments eventually.

Anyone have an imported Asian Store near them - or shopped a friend's stash?

Weight Loss Blog

[edited]

So I'm contemplating doing a private weight loss blog or blogger forum and anyone can join in. Either we each have our own separate blog and comment on each other or we use my main one to comment on everyone's progress. I do one in person with my friends - usually we have a goal to set and goal prizes at the end. I might just follow in through with the blog (prizes). I want committed folks to join, share, inspire and support one another. Let me know what you guys think and if anyone is really interested in joining?

Thanks!

MAC English Accent Lipgloss Swatch

I went back to MAC this past weekend to return my lipstick.
I'm not the type to keep a product just because of its packaging or because it's limited edition. Newp. If it doesn't work then it will go back. It pained me though because some skeezy MA who being a trick muttered "ah, this is sold out". I'm like, ugh sucks but it didn't work!

So I went and got MAC's Liberty of London lipgloss in English Accent.
And it was the last one! I got so lucky.
I wanted to try it since obviously glosses are sheerer then lipstick, so I was hoping it'd be more wearable. It is!

I also picked up a backup of Slimshine in Bare because they're being discontinued soon and this is my go-to lipstick. It layers on nicely to a pink shade. So pick up your slimshines if you haven't already!

I can't wait to use this in looks. It's something new in my collection in terms of color. I'm diggin' it. My new Summer shade, totally. Last year it was MAC's Pink Lemonade - which I'd recommend you all to check out too.

Go Girl, It's Yo Birthday. Open Wide, I Know You Thirsty!

My Birthday was last week - March 18th and I turned 21.
Yak yak, I wish. It was my 24th birthday.
Such a disgusting age but not worse then 25!
Time flies...

My mom got me a new camera for my bday! YAY!
So excited and it was about time. I love it. Got the Canon SD780.

It so happens that me and my godson share the same date so this past Saturday my bestie hosted his birthday party.

My makeup for the most part was neutral because I knew I wanted to wear red lipstick for when we went out to the club later that night.

Face: Revlon Colorstay Foundation + Concealer, MAC Cantaloupe Blush, MAC Vanilla p/m (cheek highlight)
Eyes: MAC Tete-tint (lid), Arena (crease), Shroom (highlight), Nylon (inner corner), False lashes and Blacktrack fluideline, wet n wild brow pencil
Lips: NYX Tea Rose (day pics), MAC So Scarlet (club pics)

My handsome godson Aiden and Mommy...

And Him trying to escape from me... hella mean lol...

My look followed by drinking pictures

Me and my friend, Analicia and our delicious smokey drink

This is my other partner in crime, Kitty - love this girl!

Ana kept feeding me either cherries or drinks all night. Goons.

Besos para todos! These are my makeup hoes.

And because I couldn't leave you out without a good laugh haha.

The birthday girl - double fisting. Vodka with the Bull + a Midori Sour = Happy Girl.

Hope everyone had a good weekend!

Power Rangers

Liquid Liner + Lashes + Vanilla p/m (inner corner)
MAC Cantaloupe Blush
NYX Power l/s + B52 I believe?

Old photo from 2 weeks ago.
Ignore the greasy face and dirty shirt. This was taken after work and golfing + movie...
I should own blot paper. And a bib.

As I mentioned before, Power is a better, wearable dupe to Blooming Lovely - which made me look like a crackhead. I heard Blooming Lovely is more wearable then Lavender Whip. I can't imagine how Lavender Whip would look on me. Probably like I'd given Barney a BJ.

Bath & Body Works Concentrated Room Spray Review

A little out of the normal beauty reviews but I wanted to share my favorite thing from Bath & Body Works - concentrated room sprays!

I had bought some last year when they first came out and this is what they claim:
  • The simplest way to scent any room in your home
  • 400 hours of amazing scent in each little bottle
  • Creates a fragrant ambiance in an instant
  • Perfect to use at home, the office, a hotel room, or any space you wish to fragrance instantly
So true! They last very long with a few sprays. I MUCH prefer them over scented oils or candles. I got my family and some friends hooked. I bought Sensual Amber in October and it's still full. 2-4 sprays in a room and you're done. None of that Febreeze crap that last a few minutes and leave a strong odor.

The price are $5.00 but they often have them on sale for $3.00 each and B&BW are very cool in always having sales and deals so often, so I'd wait for a coupon or these go on sale to save some moolah. Full price is still worth a purchase though.

[L/R - Sensual Amber, Pineapple Mango, Seaside Escape, Autumn Apple, Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin, Pineapple Orchid]

Sensual Amber - This has a light musk, vanilla scent to it. Like the name, it's very sensual and soothing in some way. My parents love this smell besides Fresh Linen (not pictured). When I spray it in my room and leave, the scent stays on me - makes for a nice perfume without putting perfume on lol. I think this was limited though, I haven't seen it at all the B&BW I've been too.

Pineapple Mango - I like fruity scents so I picked this one up. It's new and yummy! Definitely can smell the pineapple and mango. Mmm. Perfect for the Summer time. It's "sweeter" smelling then Pineapple Orchid though, but they're both similar when sprayed.

Seaside Escape - Smells just like the beach, beech! Faint coconut smell, a little fresh and sweet too. This is new to my collection. I like it - probably will reach it more during Summer time. I hate coconut smelling stuff but this is tolerable to me. Seriously, I gag at artificial coconut smell. Bleh.

Autumn Apple - Apple! Smells just like the sweet red apples. Yum. My mom doesn't care for it but if you like apple scented stuff, check this out. I use it as a pick me up, the smell of apple is nostalgic for some reason.

Sweet Cinnamon Pumpkin - Smells like pumpkin... and cinnamon, fer reals! lol. I used this often (or sensual amber) during winter time. Smells like the pumpkin pies but it's a candy version of pumpkin pies, really sweet - just like the name! oh em gee.

Pineapple Orchid - Smells like pineapple and the flower but also another light scent, nice mixture. Very sweet but not as sharp as Pineapple Mango.

Not Pictured - But Still Own

Fresh Linen - Ugh, love this ish. We use it for the living room/bathroom. Smells like what it's called. Very fresh smell, straight out the laundry but not strong. It's tolerable.

Sea Island Cotton - Smells similar like Fresh Linen but more "airy" - hard to describe these, but kinda like fresh baby powder?

Fresh Bamboo - Fucking YUCK! I thought it smelled "fresh" at the store but when I sprayed it in my room, it was so strong and smelled liked fake plants. Hate this! Gave me a headache right away. Others might like it but nothing of it was fresh.

What are your favorites?

Maybelline COLORsensational Lipsticks Mini Haul

I bought these months ago - thought I'd give'em try since the shades looked pretty.
I had gone to Target and from what I recall they were on sale for $3.00 or so...

I picked up COLORsensational in Mauve-licious (left) and Pink Petal (right).

Mauve-licious - a deep burgundy shade that photographs more berry. The texture is creamy and nicely pigmented. The color didn't fully compliment me - it's too deep for my liking but it's pretty in a vampy way.

Pink Petal - nude baby pink color with a hint of shimmer to it. The texture on this was dry! I don't know if I ended up getting a dud but this was horrible to apply. The color is pretty but this is just unusable. I hope it was that shade alone because I think COLORsensational had a really nice color selection compared to the others drugstore brand.

I think you can even tell on the pictures above how dry Petal looks on the lips. Ew.

The smell to Mauve-licious has a hint of vanilla in it while Pink Petal smelled straight up, old ass Wet N' Wild style. Remember those crayon smelling lipsticks? I remember getting Wet N' Wild when I was younger and their lipsticks use to smell like that. Even when wearing both of them I can still smell it, I don't know if most of their line is like that because I haven't owned many drugstore lipstick items in many years but they are rank!

Overall, I think the line has some nice shades if you check it out. I would purchase them at RiteAid or whichever drugstore that allows you to return makeup without hassle. I still think NYX is much superior in the drugstore lines in my honest opinion but I know Maybelline tends to get many BOGOs, so there you go.

Birds & Berries FOTD

Face - Revlon Colorstay Concealer, L'Oreal True Match Foundation, MAC Blush Margin
Eyes - MAC Nylon (lid), Birds & Berries (crease), Dark Blue Green Pigment (outer v), cobalt (lower lid), lashes, blacktrack fluidline, WNW Brow Pencil
Lips - NYX Thalia

After playing with my makeup and going out, I realized I much prefer going for a neutral look overall. I guess I feel bright colors or smokey eyes ages me ... and I feel much prettier with just liner and a bold lip. I should challenge myself to go back to it once a week. Anyone feel that way too though?

MAC Give Me Liberty of London Small Haul + Review

I did a quick stop at the mall yesterday to see this collection (GMLOL) and purchase a thing or two.
There wasn't much I was eying but from the swatches I had seen I really wanted to look into Blooming Lovely lipstick. I've been fascinated with the whole purple/lavender lip thing but never bought anything from the previously released MAC collections - so this was my chance. Plus, I really like the design on the packages and find it cute and girlie. One of my favorites besides the zebra prints in other collections! So check it out while you can...

Birds & Berries - I really don't reach for blues often but this one is so pretty and I can definitely pair it up easily with different eyeshadow colors. I can't wait to play with it. I have most blues from the permanent line and I couldn't find a dupe. It did reminded me of Club e/s though, just more blue. In terms of limited edition shades - I have no clue because I don't follow LE products but I'm sure there is a dupe out there because the past 2/3 years MAC has put out a lot of blues in their LE collections. I wanna guess Starflash had something similar?

Above, I swatched shadows I believe to be the closest match (which aren't by the slightest) to give you a look at the difference. Far left is Freshwater (a bit brighter), Birds & Berries in the middle and Parrot LE on the far right (a bit lighter in tone and more in the aqua/turquoise family then blue).

As I said, I went solely to check out Blooming lipstick.
When I swatched it at first - it gave me a pink, cool undertone with that hint of lilac which I assumed would in turn mean more wearable because with my skin tone, I can pull off a lot of lighter shade of pinks easily. But not cool tones, unfortunately. As I tried it on - woooo did I look like I had crack lips! lol. I tried different applications and layers, also lip liners - only way to work with this is to add lip gloss on top to tone it down which to me defeats the purpose of owning the shade if I'm only going to mask it. Ya dig?

I remembered it resembled a lot like my NYX lipstick in Power. And dun dun dun, exact dupe!

Power is slightly more wearable though - and a hell of a lot cheaper! $1.50 US compared to $14.50 US on MAC. Blooming comes off creamy but dries slightly matte whereas NYX are mostly creamy shades. If you're on a budget or your local stand/online sold out - just purchase Power and give a go.

Overall, I see duplicated items from this collection but a lot should be something everyone should own in their personal collections whether they come from Give Me Liberty, other limited editions or the permanent stands.

What are your opinions about the collections - any Likes/Dislikes?
Please share and comment bellow!

Makeover On The Little Sister

She was heading to my friend's little sister's quince... huh? Don't get lost.

Anywhatever, so I was bored and asked if I can do her makeup since she's really plain about her face or really emo and shit melts everywhere. I'm thinking sometimes, "god... people are going to think I'm doing your makeup with your melty-ass eyes." So I gave her a smokey look, not age appropriate but it's a different approach to what I usually do on her (which is simple or single color application - more age appropriate, one mom can approve).

Showing tities and all... sheit, she ain't me!
All she needs is a pole and she's the next Miley Cyrus, actually.
Haha - I need to shut up.

Eyes - Mac Vellum (inner corner lid), Vibrant Grape (mid lid), Beauty Marked (outer v), Brown Script (crease), Mylar (highlight), Black Track Fluidline, Telescopic Mascara, Wet N Wild Brown Pencil
Face - Revlon Colorstay Foundation, MAC Cantaloupe (cheek's apple), Fever (contour), Jardin Aires Pigment (highlight)
Lips - NYX Natural l/g

Make Up Misfit No More...

...I don't know if I should continue using my old freelance business name (Make Up Misfits) or go under Makeup By Celly? Hm. I have to remake some new business cards since I have to update my contact information and I wanted a new, unique look to my card.

Originally, Make Up Misfits was suppose to be a duo-team with me and my friend but we end up doing our own thing and getting our own "clients"... and well, we're busy in our own lives to even speak to each other. I do like the Make Up Misfits name. Any freelance/professional makeup artist have any suggestions - or my fellow bloggers?

Speaking on my freelance, I did my friend's makeup for a concert she was attending this past weekend. She has really easy features to work with and I used more colors on her then I normally would to match her blouse. Unfortunately, the camera didn't pick up on any of the brightness or lime glitter liner on the lash line. I'm mad about this, actually - it looks so faded and creased but it wasn't. Halle-loo-yer to my mom buying me a new camera for my birthday. Gotta retire Big Bertha's old ass.

Eyes - MAC Gorgeous Gold (inner eye), Parrot (mid-lid), Plumage and Blue Green Pigment (outer v), Tete-a-Tine (crease), Mylar (highlight), Lime Glitter Liner and Blacktrack Fluidline.
Lips - Her own shade
Face - Nars Foundation, her own blush
