Barbie Contest FOTD

Excuse my absence and posting responses to mine or other blogs.
I had a really, really crazy weekend. You guys would not believe HOW crazy.
Omg. Celly went off the walls. Haha.

Here goes a very "original" Barbie inspired look I did earlier in the week but have yet to post.
This is for my lovely daughter [she practically looks like me, duh] Laura who is holding up a Barbie contest.
I swear, no one has done this look yet ;]
Hella original.

Sally Hansen Airspray Foundation
MAC Dollymix Blush

Eyes [all MAC]:
Hoppin' (highlight - I believe it's this color)
Bright Fucshia Pigment (crease)
Bitter/Juxt (lid)
Entremauve/Beauty Marked (outer v)
Lime Dandy Glitter Liner (lower lid)
Blacktrack Fluidline
False Lashes
NYC Brown Pencil (for brows)

NYX Pink l/l
MAC Hollywood Night l/s
NYX l/g

I tried. Lol. Wish I had the same lip stuff the chick is using.

Hope everyone had a good memorial day weekend.
I bet NO ONE can top mines. Haha.

Kim Kardashian Inspired Contest Entry FOTD

This is for Rai's Neutral/Smokey Eye Contest currently being held.

I went for Kim Kardashian as inspiration - been wanting to do this for quiet some time.
I think Kim is absolutely gorgeous and I tried my best replicating it even though I in no way look like her. It's a cross between neutral/smokey because her photo does have a smoke-effect to it.

I wish I had a big ass ring like hers too.
I've seen so many cute ones at Forlove21 (it's Forever21's accessories store - same company but they don't accept forever21 giftcards... skanks!) and wanted to buy some, but at this time - I'm low on $.

Eyes [all MAC]:
Perky Paintpot (base)
Mylar (lid)
Dazzlelight (highlight)
Cork (crease)
Satin Taupe (crease on top of Cork)
Blacktrack Fluidline
Benefit High Brow (waterline)
Covergirl Lash Blast Mascara
No Name Lashes
Wet N' Wild Brow Set

NYX Nude l/l
MAC Slimshine in Bare

LOL at poses.
Like my red nails? I forgot to paint them like hers and did red this morning instead.

And I so need a new camera. Don't you hate how much better it looks in person and once it's capture on camera - to me it feels like I set the camera on "fuck yo' face up" mode or something. But mines is really old ass Canon I've had for 5+ years and it's a 7+ year model, haha.

I wanted to tell people who won my giveaway/contest - they'll be on it's way as soon as I can get $ to ship them because I've had a huge unexpected bill to pay of first and well, work has been low in hours lately. But they'll get to you, promise.

MAC Cosmetics Site Now Sells Pro Pans + Palettes

Just wanted to share a bit of news (well, could be old news for all I know lol.)

But MAC online is now selling Pro Pans Refills plus the palettes.
Unfortunately, a lot of the stuff are out of stock but it's still worth mentioning to those who don't have freestanding MAC or Pro stores around them and would like to get them.

Potted Pan - $14.50US
Pro Pan - $11.00US
(you save $3.50 plus more room space lol)

15-Pan Palette - $12.00US
4-Pan Palette - $3.50US
(ELF Cosmetics has a similar 4-pan one for $1)

MAC Online does NOT sell PRO shades in single pan form - only PERMANENT shades in pan form.
Only MAC Pro online would sell Pro items - but you can call in to order if you're not a Pro card member.

Hope that helped anyone today.

Charlotte Russe - Pastel NOTD

Hey guys,

New layout. Just did a last minute thing, I always get bored with layouts. lol.

Anywho - wanted to share the nail color I've been sporting this week.

It's from Charlotte Russe and they're $3.50 each but for 2 it's only $6.
I picked the Pastel shade and my little sister picked a turquoise color.

Took 4 coats to get bottle shade. Lame.
And it chips pretty easily, even with a topcoat.

I love the shade but it's a pain.

So that's all.

OH, P.S....
I wanted to know if my post even shows up on other people's dashboards?
Sometimes I can't see other people's post and then other days I do. Weird.

Make Up Misfits: Makeover Look and How To*

Hi, guys...

So - my laptop's AC Adapter is kaput and until then, I'm using my desktop computer which sucks because I can't upload images since they're all kept in my laptop. Boo.

But anywho.
My friend called me up on Saturday and asked if I can do her makeup for the Vincente Fernandez concert she was attending to that night. I'm basically her go-to MUA when she has an event to go to. I exchange my services for her photo taken plus spreading my business cards around (and her made up face! lol). I love my friends, they're always willing to help me out.
Hopefully it'll pay off with a paid clientele. In the meantime, I always have fun catching up with her.

This by far is my favorite look I've done on her.
Usually I stick to gold/black on her but decided for blue.
She brought her own lashes and a MAC Reflects teal pigment (I believe it's called) sample and omg, I love it. You can't really see it on film (albeit a bit of sparkles you notice on the crease section) but use it on top of the eyeshadow and it adds instant pizazz. I SOOOO want one. Anyone wanna send Celly a sample if they have it? LOL.

I added these to my portfolio over the weekend so whoever followed this blog got to see the images first.

Eyes [All MAC]
+Painterly Paintpot (base)
+Moonflower (lid)
+Brown Script (crease)
+Deep Blue Green Pigment (crease)
+Nylon (inner corner)
+Reflects Teal Pigment? (lid)
+Black Track Fluideline
+MAC #7 lashes (her own)

*lipstick, foundation, blush are unknown to me - she had it on before I did her eyemakeup but they are all MAC.

First apply your base. When applying light shades I always stick to white or off-white base cream shadow like Painterly Paintpot or NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk to make the eyeshadow POP (stand out). I apply it with the fingers slowly blending it upward towards the crease - stopping below the brow bone.

Next, I always apply a brown shade to the crease to add depth to all my looks. I used Brown Script and blending it outwards in circle motions. Then I apply the light blue shade on the lid stopping at the crease with a very small eyeshadow brush, I use Moonflower eyeshadow. I always pat the product onto the lid to minimize fallout and it doesn't give a fade-out appearance. I stop up until the crease point and then I add a dark blue eyeshadow (deep blue green pigment). With pigments, use the pat motion aswell unto the crease, at this point - it'll look a bit messy but make sure you apply the color first and then you blend it out with a blending brush (ELF makes the best blending brush for this and it's only $1, other wise I use MAC's #224 brush). In the outer v, I also put Deep Blue Green Pigment and smoked it out.

Next, I always apply a light eyeshadow shade to the inner corner eyes to brighten the area up. My favorite to use is Nylon eyeshadow because it has a hint of gold/yellow shimmer and it goes great with all eyeshadows. MAC's Shroom eyeshadow works well too without the gold/yellow shimmer - it's more neutralized. I tend to like putting eyeshadows that have more then one demension color to it like MAC's Vellum (looks white but has a blue/purple tint to it) or Gorgeous Gold (looks gold but has green tint to it) - they really add more to your look without overdoing it.

Next goes on your black liner. It's easiet for me to use gel liner on other people as oppose to liquid pens or pencils. I save pencils for waterline. Afterward you apply your mascara and lastly your false lashes goes on. Always mascara first and lashes after, it helps prevent mascara going onto your lashes and you can keep them longer without ruining them! Next, if you see lash glue - cover it up with the liner again ontop so it'll blend nicely with your real lashes.

My last added touches was the Reflects Teal Pigment. I dipped my brush in, tapped off the excess and lightly patted it across the crease and some on the lid.

Ta-da! Look completed.

Hope that helped you all.
Feedbacks appreciated.

Shoe Inspired Contest Entry

Hola Cholas (or cholos) -

I'm finally getting into entering some contests being held.
First I decided to do the gorgeous Rubey's contest which is really unique and although I found it challenging, I had fun doing it.

Revlon Concealer
Wet N' Wild Liner (for the marks)
Michael's Craft Store Gems
MAC Stars N' Rocket
NYX Purple Glitter

Eyes [all MAC]:
Vex (lid/highlight)
Nile (crease)
Stars N' Rocket (lower lid)
Blacktrack Fluidline
False Lashes (no brand name)

I was gonna use my sister's sneakers (cus I stopped purchasing them long ago) since heels or flats don't have the funky decal like sneakers do. But I found this image online and decided to use it instead.

Hope everyone has a good Mother's Day.
And I want to say Happy Birthday to my Tia (aunt) Rosa Lilian.
She passed away last September and I truly miss her and wished she were here to celebrate with us.
Cherish your mommies!

Review:Revlon Age Defying Spa Foundation & Concealer

Hidee Hoes :]

Today I'll be reviewing the latest Revlon Foundation/Concealer...
Color Code:
NAME: Revlon Age Defying Spa Foundation & Concealer
Foundation: Instantly revitalizes and brightens for radiant, flawless coverage. Protects against fine lines.
  • Stone Therapy minerals help energize stressed skin
  • Vitamin C fusion brightens
  • Antioxidants and SPF 18 strengthen skin's natural defense systems
Concealer: Instantly conceals and brightens. Protects against fine lines.
  • Stone Therapy minerals help energize stressed skin
  • Vitamin C fusion brightens
  • Antioxidants help strengthen skin’s natural defense systems
PRICE: Got it as BOGO-Free. Prices Vary from $9-13 each.
Foundation: Deep Shade. You turn the top to "On" and squeeze tub until product comes out thru the bristles. (Brush care: Rinse thoroughly with warm water and soap. Air-dry.)
Concealer: Medium/Deep Shade. Pencil stick - it's a clicker (you turn the clicker for the product to come out)

+ Build-able Shade - doesn't come off thick
+ Gives good dewy appearance
+ Doesn't have a strong SPF smell
+ The brush is interesting and can be convenient when you don't have a brush around
+ The "ON" - "OFF" switch.
+ It doesn't stay in the cracks/wrinkles of skin
+ Brightens dark undereyes a bit
+ LIMITED COLOR SELECTION. UGH. (8 shades total)
+ Can have rub-off potential (not much)
+ Same as above (4 shades total)
Deep is the darkest shade they carry in foundation under this line and I'm NC44/45 in MAC and #173 in MUFE so my skintone isn't the darkest. So, ladies with darker skintones then me - sorry, but you're out of luck. Huge flaw in this product. Even the dark shade is a bit light on me, so it's not the best match and not something I can wear during Summer time which is the BEST time to wear a foundation like this. Same goes for the concealer - although nothing is special with the concealer.

The brush applicator for the foundation is pretty neat, I think some might not like it but for me - I like setting it on my face and then blending it with my MAC #187. I don't have to pour it on my hand or apply with my fingers first, so that's cool. Cleaning is easy - and the "OFF" switch will prevent water leaking in or product leaking out.

Revlon has good face products overall - so you can't loose when choosing from them, imo.
BUY AGAIN? Only if they make darker shades, but most likely - no.
RATING: 3.5/5 (for both)
