Resolution

So who the hell is ready for vacation and Holiday breaks?

I effin' am!

I know a starting new year doesn't change one's life but I'm so ready for 2009 to be over with!
This year had me dealing with a lot and I'm just ready to really take charge and start a new school and for the sun to come out and hug my bah-dee with warmth. Water + freshly straighten hair = not so cute hair, you feel me? I'm just ready! Also, I wanna freaking save my money...all this fall/winter bdays are killing my budget and I've only bought 1 thing for me this year and that was my phone. Everything else has been going to my bills :( and now presents... god, I haven't even done my xmas shopping yet.

I don't get to enjoy shopping or any of that - so I'm just patiently waiting on Santa's ass to get here and for us to pop champagne on the new year and call it a day!

So what is everyone doing during the "break" (if you're lucky to have one... like me. naners :p)?
Or what have you asked Santa aka the people around you - for Christmas?

I just want cash - straight up. Help pay Celly's bill money or a trip to somewhere. lol

And yeth, I have ignored my poor ass blog. Trust me - I think about it and want to do so much with it but with my limited time and resources and mother nature reaking havoc on my body... it just happens to become last in my priority list. But I would love to thank all my old followers and new ones for sticking through. Hang on - cus I do have giveaways coming in the new year. I just have to set order on some things.

But until then... this is my last post until the new year.

My resolution for the new year - save money (and smile more?)! What's yours?

HAVE A WONDERFUL HOLIDAY AND SAFE, FUN DRUNKEN (OR SOBER) TIMES!

Precious

Just saw that movie.
It was really good!
I want to read the book but the movie was graphic enough for me. I just hate the theater I went too. A bunch of little teens were there laughing at damn near everything and going "ooo nah uh! no she didn't." Such a ghetto ass theater haha.

I saw my friend today who works at Forever21 and she had really pretty makeup on so I wanted to recreate that look. I haven't done brights on myself in forever!

And I just realized the SPF in my foundation totally washes me out in pictures with flash. Bah.

Eyes - all MAC

Bulletproof

Why haven't I posted as much?

a. Ever since having an iPhone - I stopped going on my laptop and checking blogger out.

b. My makeup looks are very simple and not really worth posting, imo...
zzz boring makeup look (plus new bangs!)

c. Busy...I guess? lol
d. Uninspired with what to post.
e. And most importantly, I need a new camera...slowly saving up the little money I have for it.

What should I do to keep my blog more interesting to you guys?

Later locas...
Have a Happy Thanksgiving and Black Friday.
I will stay away from the shopping madness.
Although I do say go check out Ulta - I've noticed A LOT of clearance at my local one.
Got a Revlon foundation for $5 and they gave me a free Instyle magazine with Taylor Swift and inside there was a coupon for $5 off for a $10 purchase or more.

Buttercup

Just got back from watching 2012.
That movie was just a huge anxiety attack waiting to happen.

Go see it! lol.

Anyway...
I was over my friend's house and she always wants me to do experimental makeup on her and I decided to try those Japanese cartoon character looks that I'm sure most of you makeup fanatics have seen.

It was very easy to do - I improvised a lot but it came out decent imo. Looked like one of the Powerpuff girls.

Used:
NYX Jumbo Pencil Milk
Wet N Wild liquid liner
MAC Carbon
MAC Gesto
MAC Bitter
MAC So Scarlet
Random lashes

Owlish, huh? lol
Sorry for the picture - took it on my phone since I forgot Big Bertha (my old ass camera).

Vegas Volt

Over the Summer I had won a makeup contest through Rubey and she was so nice to let me choose a lipstick of my choice and so I decided to get MAC's Vegas Volt.

Totally a Summer lipstick!
(And I would post it during the Fall, lol)

Amplified Creme Lipstick - Pink/Coral Shade
*drool coming down the side of my mouth

Bright!
I love the shade, I really do. It's unique in that it appears somewhat neon (in terms of brightness), the color is unique in that I don't see a lot of people wearing it and that it can be a show stopper just like red lipsticks. Amplified Creme are my favorite forms of MAC lipsticks so it's not drying yet it stays on a good amount of time, aswell. This would look when paired with simple eyes or killer liner or a bit of drama.

Although I love it a lot, I don't love it on me.
Unfortunately it doesn't compliment my skintone very well.
Not very WOC-friendly...
(I'm NC 44/45 for reference.)

I gotta figure out a way to wear this or simply not care and just wear it alone.
But on more fair skintones this would look absolutely gorgeous!
I can see a lot of girls rocking it!

Lemme know what you think or if you own Vegas Volt and how you wear it out!

NOTD: No Spain No Gain

Since Fall is here and Winter soon approaching, I steered more towards richer shades of nail polish. No more neons and the brights of Summer. Bring on my red and nudes! I really love dark polishes, I just can't pull them off successfully against my skin tone or to my liking that is until I tried OPI's No Spain No Gain. Love!

I bought this mini set over the Summer while on vacation solely for the bright pink in it and because it was cheaper then buying one OPI polish (I got it for $7 at some beauty store.)

No Spain No Gain - A lovely deep berry creme shade. My picture makes it photograph brighter but it's a lot deeper then what is shown. 2 coats applied + top coat.

OPI Espana Senoritas Minis

What's your go-to Fall/Winter shade?

Morocco

Hello...

Man, I got a lot of blogs to catch up too.

Here's my look from yesterday. Friend's dinner at a Moroccan Restaurant. Food was okay (no carbs on my plate... psh). But the entertainment was nice. Interesting experience.

I haven't done makeup looks in a long time!
So I'm a bit rusty - just wasn't happy with the outcome.
And I got the Too Face Shadow Insurance...
IT SUCKS!

Short Blogger Hiatus

Hey guys!

So just to update the blog a bit...

I've been a bit overwhelmed this past week.
One of my best friend's dad died this past Sunday and the sudden passing was a shock to say the least. I'm close to her family and it's just sad - he had the same illness that my aunt had so it touched close to home. Funeral is this week and I'm just, hesistant - I don't like seeing anyone that hurt. I've just been thinking a lot and a bit down on how this year has been in me experiencing a lot of deaths or my loved ones experiencing their own personal problems. Life is crazy and unexpected.

And also the fact that I don't have communication with my ex anymore has been bugging me more now and that's stressful - just because with all this going on plus a pregnancy scare, I wanted to lean on him and I can't. I'm really missing him and it's hard for me to admit that because I've told myself I can easily move on but it hasn't been the case.

I've just been eating a lot and a lot and my weight is one thing I'm personally struggling with so that's put me down a bit as well. UGH DIETS! My head isn't focused anymore - really clouded.

But I keep smiling! Just going through a bit of a phase and wanted to let you all know.
I need a bit of time to step away from blogging and I wanna come back to really focus on building up this site and my freelancing career in makeup.

I'll try to comment when I can.

Later.

Loosey Goosey

Loose pigments are a pain to work with - and I don't like the look of foiling.

I have to go youtube on pressing pigments because I can't stand it anymore lol. Seriously, I was working with Pastorale and it's a fine pigment which is more loose and harder to stay on the lid even with a primer unless I press it into a pan.

This is a look I did today for my friend's bday.
Decided to be matchy-matchy with makeup to my clothes.
I don't do that often (not like it's a bad thing)... but I felt like I was neglecting my old pigment samples. Pastorale is such an underatted shade, I believe. It's really pretty in person. I think it'll look best of tan-dark skintones, imo.

Ugh to hormonal breakouts!
I stopped using MAC foundations because they broke me out horribly for a long time and then I used prescribed medicine to rid the acne. Now I hardly get those cystic ones UNTIL the time prior to my period starting. 1 evil ass pimple to go along with a bloody cooch ... what the effing hell. Everytime!
I know I'm getting my period when I get crampy, moody and one skank ass pimple rises up in its glory claiming victory on my face.

Asshole. lol.

Anyone else get's those types of breakouts?
I'm scared to ever get preggars in fear of me being a hormonal, bloated, moody, bumpy ass bitch. Haha.

And who heard of Kandi from Real Housewive of Atlanta and her fiance being killed?
So sad! This year has been the case of the sads... =/

Hot Topic: Give Them A Pacifier & Call It A Day

I'm thinking of adding a hot topic weekly about makeup, blogger and life.
I really enjoy getting to hear people's opinions about things and I like hearing from both parties - not people just agreeing to what I think. That's just silly.
If you like the idea of this - let me know.

Hot topic:
Give Them A Pacifier & Call It A Day

I got this idea from a new friend of mine.
We were talking about people who hypocritically complain about things, say inappropriate things but can because "it's their blog", or can't handle different opinions that aren't their own. Basically folks who give it but can't take it or learn to agree to disagree.

A. This person wrote on their post title something like, "blah blah Niggas!".
This person was damn near no shade of Obama.
First thing that popped into my head was "ooo they're gunna get shit."

First comment under this post was in a form of an obvious warning - 'monchichi' said "you shouldn't write that because there are some people who would take offense especially you not being black".

Next thing the blogger changed the title from Nigga to something like "monchichi is a stupid Bitch" because she didn't like her comment.

I wrote something similar to the original comment and the next day the post was removed and a new one added saying, "Stupid Bitches blah blah - it's MY blog, I can say whatever I want!"

Well, hell... who's with me and making their new blog post saying "Chinks ain't nothing but noodle eating Hoe." Any takers?
Yeah. I know well enough even though it's common slang and possibly said in a jokingly manner - some or even one person can take offense.
It may be YOUR blog but who reads it?
I know I don't sit here reading my own blog.

Which leads me too...

B. People taking offense on opinionated comments...

There is one thing for us blogger to be pissed about truly and those are trolls who leave rude remarks without any substance to it. Meaning, buttholes who form no constructive criticism or just give fly-by put downs (e.g you're ugly).

Yes, I did say buttholes.

People, people, people.
Don't form a question and not assume you would get different opinions about it.
I read about 3 different blogger post that started with a rant about something and obviously those people would like to know if anyone felt the same. Understandable. Then you get one comment opposing that rant and all hells breaks loose.
And bare in mind:
THIS IS THE INTERNET - IT'S NOT A BIG FUCKING DEAL.

Reading things over the internet can be miscontrude in so many different ways then in person. You're missing people's tone, body gestures, sarcasim or what have you. I can write a sincere constructive cristism and the other person reading it might take it as me being a complete bitch.
Jenny's FOTD:
"I tried red lipstick for the first time... lemme know what you think?! CC welcomed"
-Jenny... I think pink would suit you better! :]
"UGH! I didn't ask what color would suit me, you're so rude. Trick."

-I thought you asked for Constructed Criticism?

If you can't handle the heat - buy a fan.
Walmart has them cheap...

Anyways, this especially was the topic we were talking about because when you go into reading things without an open mind or not actually READING THINGS PROPERLY - you start making things sound negative when they aren't. People like this are ususually ones who constantly need to be babied and fed formula full of shit. Constant whiners in their blogs and woe is me someone change my diaper and expect the web is nothing but a lot nice ass people who think whatever you say was actually written from God himself and therefor must agree with you 100%.

Guess what - God goes on lunch break when you type.

Instead of, "no - what you're saying is wrong" be like, "interesting point of view blah blah" and move on!

C. Seriously, MOVE ON!

Lastly, if something supposedly doesn't affect you so much and you say, "I'm above this - I'm moving on" yet keep going back to it... yeah, it affected you. Womp womp.

Who won in that battle? Battle of e-hags I say! If you still dwell on it - you're the loser, sorry to say. You're letting that person get the best of you.
Let be, let go and if you're better then that - let's move it forward.

Besides there are things called Denied, Block, Reject, Delete, Unfollow - things you can do when you don't like it. Really - what's the point of telling the whole world and then keep saying, "I'm moving on. Oh girl, you wanna know what happened? I'll tell you later but in the meantime - I'm moving on."

Pacifier PLEASE!

Hope you found this somewhat enlightening.
I mean no offense but I've noticed this happening often on blogs, forums, IMing...whatever.
I usually unfollow rude folks despite how good their blog is.

I never mean say anything to offend my fellow bloggers - I rather keep the peace (and talk shit on the downlow haha nah).

Have you guys experience or seen stuff like this happen?

Comment away...

Black Makeup?

I'm not fully understanding the whole MAC Black craze going on.

Actually, I understand for the shadows but the lippy products?
There are actual lemmings for black lipsticks/glosses. Like, wah esta loca!

I can see where the OCC Lip Tar in black comes in useful because you can mix it up to darken the other glosses but the MAC lipsticks, I guess I want someone to explain to me the fascination with this when I think some people are just buying it just because (or lemmings) and won't truly wear it. You know, the "MAC Hype".

To each their own, right?! Right.
But I'm curious about what gets people's chonies wet over black lipstick.
Besides being goth..Is it used as base, halloween, trend, etc?

It reminds me of the white lipstick craze I went through.
Hella Chola and eww lol. Brown lipliner and all.
Dry ass cheap lipstick too...

SoCAL Vacay Pics

Hey guys
I'm back from our little trip to SoCAL (Southern California).
Stayed at Anaheim and we hit little spots he hadn't done before.

Went to Mission San Jaun Capistrano - first Mission in CA.
Really gorgeous there. Perfect for wedding receptions, photoshoots...
Then we went to Discovery Museum in Santa Ana.
It was for kids, mainly - but my old ass had fun lol.
Gone to San Pedro beaches and farmers market.

Ate a lot!
I've never seen so many yogurt joints then down there, lucky bastards.
Had Pollo Campero - and mmm. Haven't had that since I was 7 when I stayed in El Salvador for a month. Now... that's bomb ass chicken! It practically shits on KFC, Popeye and Pollo Loco.

But damn - I gained the lbs so the chicken ain't feeling so bomb ass on my gut lol.

Here's just a collective pictures of the trip.
Didn't manage to take a lot, actually.
